First comment: I don't know why people post comments like that. In many states, undocumented college students can't apply for scholarships, FAFSA or other type of financial aid that requires residency or citizenship--therefore, if they go to school it either comes out of their pockets or private scholarships. Do you know how much an undocumented student has to pay to go to ASU or even just to a community college?
Now, to be honest, I don't know why there are so many Americans/Residents that don't go to college. ASU offers a shit load of full ride scholarships, and well...it accepts 95% of the people who apply, plus fafsa, plus any scholarship they want to apply. And don't bullshit us about "well...I don't have money for books." because there are scholarships for books and other supplies.
Oh and yesterday, me and my sister watched "Sixteen Candles" for the very first time. I'm telling you, 80s movies are the funniest, and talk about Jake Ryan--they don't make boys like that anymore. This is something that I kind of relate to the Americans that don't go to college because "they can't find a way to pay for it." versus DREAM act students who find a way:
ASU (full time):
American/Resident student: around $6,000 per semester
Undocumented Student: around $10,000 per semester.
Community College(full time):
American/Resident student: around $1,000 per semester
Undocumented student: $4,000 per semester.
